The stories we carry.
The lives we create.

Hi, I’m Maegan.

I’ve always been curious about people. I want to know why people are the way they are.

Maybe some of that curiosity comes from my own story. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to understand myself too.

I tend to skip the small talk and laugh easily. I ask a lot of questions, have plenty of opinions and love a good reason to change my mind.

The story I’m
still learning to
tell.

There’s a part of my story that changed almost everything that came after it. For a long time I didn’t know how to talk about it, so I didn’t.

In 2016 I survived the Bastille Day terrorist attack in Nice, France. My dad and brother didn’t. I came home and had to figure out how to keep living without them.

Ten years later, I’m beginning to understand that telling my story isn’t only about what I lost. It’s also about love, womanhood, living, the good in people and what comes after surviving.

That story belongs here. But it has never been the whole story.

I’ve had a life.
A big one.

I’ve built things and walked away from things. Taken chances. Changed direction. Traveled. Loved people. Lost people. Been wrong. Changed my mind. Said yes without knowing exactly where it would lead.

Some things worked out. Some didn’t. All of it made my life bigger.

I didn’t choose every part of my story. None of us do. But I do get to show up as myself in all of it.

So, hi. I’m Maegan.

Four friends jumping off a dock hand in hand, mid-air over a lake
A stone building with an arched green door and bougainvillea in a village alley
A happy senior dog standing on a flower-lined sidewalk
A latte with leaf-pattern foam art beside The Five Minute Journal and a leather journal tied with cord, on a green tabletop in sunlight
Maegan smiling, seated, wearing a cowboy hat and holding a glass of wine
